Consumers Against Copy Control is a petition with the intent to force record companies to stop releasing music on copy controlled audio discs.
The reason for this is that copy controlled discs do not play correctly on all audio devices. They may not play correctly on
If you play your audio discs on any of these types of devices, beware that copy controlled discs may not play correctly, or simply may not play at all.There have even been reports of copy controlled discs destroying devices.
Copy controlled discs are not CDs. They use a different type of technology, and record companies are not allowed to call discs with copy contol "CDs".
So if you would like to be sure that when you buy a new audio disc, you can play it in whatever device you wish, we urge you to sign this petition to stop record companies from releasing copy controlled discs.
The Norwegian version of this campaign has already gathered over 7000 signatures. We hope you will join us in the fight against inferior products.
